| LOVE your cake and EAT it too!!! Who are we? Mystical cakes is a 'cake art' studio located in Kannapolis, NC. We offer unique, custom and frequently one-of-a-kind custom cakes. We specialize in sculpted and 3-d Special Occasion Custom Cakes, as well as wedding cakes. Mystical Cakes is owned by Andrea & Jason Roten. Andrea grew up helping her mom create cakes for birthdays and weddings, and created her own business after graduating college and moving away from her hometown. Her husband Jason was drafted by default into the business due to the our success, and has quickly become a very valuable asset, showcasing fantastic cake artistic abilities that can be seen in the "Outhouse", "Momma Cow" and "R2D2" as well as contributions on many other cake creations! Mystical Cakes has been creating custom cakes for 10 years in the Cabarrus, Rowan & Stanly County areas. Word is spreading so our service territory is ever-expanding. Please contact us as early as possible to book your event date, whether it be a birthday, shower or wedding! Where are we? Our 'cake studio' is located at our home in Kannapolis, NC. We have a dedicated cake shop with it's own separate entrance, where we can meet our clients and provide the individual attention they deserve. What are our hours? We are open by appointment only. This allows us to focus all our attention on creating those fantastic cake designs and custom cakes. It also allows us to provide you with our one-on-one attention during your appointment. We typically hold wedding cake tastings in the evening hours through the week. Occasionally we can fit in a weekend appointment if necessary, but our weekends are usually booked with those fabulous wedding and custom cake orders. 95% of our orders go out Thurs-Saturday! Do you charge for cake consultations? No, we do not charge for consultations or tastings. We provide 2 cake flavors for you at your cake tasting, free of charge. Our taste cakes are 6" round cakes, which will allow plenty of extra for you to take home to let the rest of the family taste! How soon can I get my cake?**NEW CHANGES!!*** Our business has been very blessed. We have acquired a loyal customer base that keeps us busy themselves, as well as by referring all their friends and loved ones. Our previous policy was 2-4 weeks notice, however; in the first few months of 2010, we are quickly filling up the REST OF THE YEAR! We love what we do, but unfortunately, this is still a part-time venture for us right now. We both have other full time positions, and of course we are first and foremost "Mom" and "Dad" to two wonderful boys, so we also reserve several weekends per year for family only. WE WILL GIVE PRIORITY TO RETURNING CUSTOMERS AND REFERRALS BY PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS; SO PLEASE, TELL US HOW YOU KNOW US WHEN YOU CALL!!! We currently cannot take any additional orders for the Months of April and May. For events beyond May, please call us ASAP to reserve your event date. For WEDDINGS, we have ONLY the following Dates and # of spots left: August 7th - 1 Spot left August 14th - 2 spots left October 16th - 1 spot left November 6th - 2 spots left December 4th - 2 spots left ***NOTE: we will not be able to take any weddings from Jan 1 - April 16th 2011 Are your cakes fresh or frozen? We do not freeze our cakes. We offer fresh cakes, and get very many compliments on how "moist and delicious" our cakes taste! How much do your cakes cost? We pride ourselves on detail and creativity. We want your cake to provide that "wow" factor at your event. Even the most basic design can take several hours to create! Since each custom cake is designed specifically for the individual client, each price will be different. You will find our basic pricing structure below. Please note that these are basic guidelines, and your cake may not fit exactly into the pricing structure. Detail work plays a large factor in the pricing, as this is typically where the time is spent. We do have a $50 minimum order. WE HAVE A MINIMUM WEDDING ORDER OF $300. IF YOU NEED A SMALLER WEDDING CAKE, WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR ORDER BUT IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY. IT WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP. $2.25 per slice for 2 tier cakes $3.00 per slice for 3 tier cakes $3.25 per slice for 4+ tier cakes $5.00 per slice for 3-d or sculpted cakes What flavors do you offer? Vanilla, Chocolate, Yellow, Red Velvet, Lemon, Strawberry, Marble, Carrot, Almond Pound Cakes: Choc, Cherry-Lemon Sun-drop and regular Sun-Drop pound cake Can I get different flavors in a multi-tiered cake? We know that not everyone likes the same flavor cake. We allow multiple flavor options within tiered cakes for no additional charge. Sculpted and 3-d cakes may or may not have this option, based on the structure and design. Do you offer discounts? We offer a referral discount program. If you refer a new client to us, you will receive a $10 discount off your next order. If that client orders a cake to feed over 100 people, you will receive a $25 discount off your next order. Please make sure we have your name and address on file, and that the client you refer remembers to give us your name, so we can record your discount!! Are you licensed to conduct business in Kannapolis? Yes, we have a business license from the City of Kannapolis. Do you deliver? Yes, we deliver wedding cakes (and any other order exceeding $300) FREE of charge within 15 miles. Any delivery exceeding 15 miles will be calculated on an individual basis. These additional fees are nominal, and rarely exceed $75. If you need delivery on a cake less than $300, please ask, and we will see what we can do to help. How can I contact you?
