Who are we? Mystical cakes is a 'cake art' studio located in Kannapolis, NC. We offer unique, custom and frequently one-of-a-kind custom cakes. We specialize in sculpted and 3-d Special Occasion Custom Cakes, as well as wedding cakes. Mystical Cakes is owned by me (Andrea) and my husband (Jason) Roten. I grew up helping my mom create cakes for birthdays and weddings, and I started my own business after graduating college and moving away from home. Jason was drafted by default into the business due to the our success, and has quickly become a very valuable asset, showcasing fantastic cake artistic abilities that can be seen in the "Outhouse", "Momma Cow" and "R2D2" as well as contributions on many other cake creations! Mystical Cakes has been creating custom cakes for 11 years in the Cabarrus, Rowan & Stanly County areas. Word is spreading so our service territory is ever-expanding. Please contact us as early as possible to book your event date, whether it be a birthday, shower or wedding! How soon can I get my cake?**UPDATED 12/12/11** Our business has been very blessed. We have acquired a loyal customer base that keeps us busy themselves, as well as by referring all their friends and loved ones. Please give us as much notice as possible. We will make every effort to fit in your order if possible. Dear fans, friends & loved ones... We are both excited and sad to announce that due to the progressing pregnancy and exhaustion which is coming with it, we have to suspend all new, incoming orders at this time. We were hoping to be able to work until February, but it's just not meant to be. We WILL be honoring all orders that have already been accepted. We do not yet know how long we will be on leave, but we will update you as soon as we make the decision to return to work. In the mean-time, we wish you all a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!! Where are we? We are located at 101 Emily Ivy Ct, Kannapolis, NC 28083. We are a home based bakery with a dedicated space and separate entrance. You will find the shop entrance around the left side of the house via the peaceful rock walkway!! What are our hours? We are open by appointment only. This allows us to focus all our attention on creating those fantastic cake designs and custom cakes. It also allows us to provide you with our one-on-one attention during your appointment. We typically hold wedding cake tastings in the evening hours through the week. Occasionally we can fit in a weekend appointment if necessary, but our weekends are usually booked with those fabulous wedding and custom cake orders. 95% of our orders go out Thurs-Saturday! Cake Consultations **CHANGE** EFFECTIVE 4/28/2011 we offer one-on-one cake consultations in order to design the cake of your dreams. We typically have several flavor cakes on hand that you may taste for your consultation. We offer our time for these consults free of charge, but if you have a specific flavor request, the cost will be $10 per flavor for a specialty taste cake. If you'd simply like to taste whatever we have on hand that day, it will be free of charge. PRICING We pride ourselves on detail and creativity. We want your cake to provide that "wow" factor at your event. Since each custom cake is designed specifically for the individual client, each price will be different. You will find our basic pricing structure below. Please note that these are basic guidelines, and your cake may not fit exactly into the pricing structure. Detail work plays a large factor in the pricing, as this is typically where the time is spent. We do have a $50 minimum order. $2.50 per slice for 2 tier cakes $3.25 per slice for 3+ tier cakes $5.00 per slice for 3-d or sculpted cakes (note, due to the significant time and detail required for vehicles, any vehicle will be a $250 minimum) FLAVORS Vanilla, Chocolate, Yellow, Red Velvet, Lemon, Strawberry, Marble, Carrot, Almond Pound Cakes: Choc, Cherry-Lemon Sun-drop and regular Sun-Drop pound cake Can I get different flavors in a multi-tiered cake? YES! We know that not everyone likes the same flavor cake. We allow multiple flavor options within tiered cakes FREE of charge. Sculpted and 3-d cakes may or may not have this option, based on the structure and design. Do you offer discounts? We offer a referral discount program. If you refer a new client to us, you will receive a $10 discount off your next order. If that client orders a cake to feed over 100 people, you will receive a $25 discount off your next order. Please make sure we have your name and address on file, and that the client you refer remembers to give us your name, so we can record your discount!! We also offer a 10% military discount. Are you licensed to conduct business in Kannapolis? Yes, we have a business license from the City of Kannapolis. Do you deliver? Yes, we deliver wedding cakes (and any other order exceeding $300) FREE of charge within 15 miles. Any delivery exceeding 15 miles will be calculated on an individual basis. These additional fees are nominal, and rarely exceed $75. If you need delivery on a cake less than $300, please ask, and we will see what we can do. How can I contact you?
